Forgiveness…
There is healing in community. Life's Healing Choices can help you in all areas of your life.
For example, in my grief journey, I have had to experience more forgiveness.
I've had to learn to:
Forgive myself for hurting others so I could continue to move forward in grief.
Forgive those who had hurt me because they were also grieving.
And to continue to forgive because Jesus Christ tells me to.
Within months of meeting on zoom with other widows, I learned that in the early stages of grieving, 5 out of the 12 of us had been met with the silent treatment from those we love. In some cases this went on for weeks, some for months, and some are still dealing with this now, almost a year after we first came together.
Because I was one of the five of us who had lost access to people I loved during my grief, I was carrying a secret shame. I couldn’t understand why people I trusted would stop speaking to me in the darkest moment of my life. And then, through my group I realized I was not alone.
And I realized I needed to make some choices.
Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.”
Matthew 18:22, “Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, ‘I tell you, not seven times but seventy-seven times.
